This truly English Cottage Border cushion is made from luxury felt wool and is hand-embroidered in exquisite detail depicting minute little flowers and greenery. The stitches are very elaborate and include leaf, stem, daisy, buttonhole satin and French knot to name a few.
This simple, elegant Cottage Border cushion was inspired by the embroideries that Jan's grandmother and great aunts hand stitched from the 1920's to the 1950's and it depicts a border of fabulous summer flowers. The sunflower in the centre is flanked by delphiniums, hollyhocks and daisies using an array of traditional embroidery stitches.
Finished with green blanket stitched edges and fastened with two mother of pearl buttons on the reverse.
